I never really expect unbiased articles from Maureen Dowd, but I would be offended if she talked that way about *any* religion! Here's what I wrote in my letter: s I read the article written by Maureen Dowd regarding Mitt Romney and his faith, I couldn't help but notice the contradictions in her argument. She seems to argue that while Mitt Romney's candidacy should be judged on his record, Mormonism is a weird and secretive organization, whose members are intolerant and ignorant - thus Mr. Romney cannot be trusted to make a good president. Ms. Dowd's highly biased presentation of Mormonism as pseudo-cult was offensive to me as a practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I respect people of all faiths, and would hope that they would do the same. Mormons do not all think alike, as evidenced by the presence of Democrats and Republicans serving in Congress (Harry Reid, D-NV; and Orrin Hatch, R-UT; for example). I personally do not support Mitt Romney's presidential candidacy because I disagree with his platform. To present us as bigots and zealots is to be, in the words of Ms. Dowd's article, "absolutely intolerant." Agreed.
